Western Europe Analysis and Forecasting Report - EuroCar

Four times a year, R. L. Polk examines the recent developments of 16 West European car markets and their medium-term (5 years) and long-term (10 years) future. EuroCar illustrates the aggregate market development and car registrations on segment and manufacturer level on a yearly basis. The quarterly EuroCar studies are rounded off by forecasts on production and exports, as well as the influence of important indicators.

The contents in detail include:
  • New registrations in Western Europe
  • Economic indicators: GDP, inflation, income, unemployment, etc.
  • Car-market indicators: model policy, fuel prices, taxation, replacement demand, etc.
  • Segment developments
  • Manufacturer developments
  • Total production, imports, and exports
Once a year, the study is complemented by information on market demand structures (new demand / replacement demand), cars in use (parc) and car density. For the major European countries, monthly reports on new registrations of the total market are published. These reports comment on monthly developments and quantify the situation and market developments for the coming months. The short-term reports include an analysis of the Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) as an early indicator for the near future developments.
